Controlled Folder Access
Ransomware Protection: Another piece of the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is Controlled Folder Access, which prevents ransomware from accessing your important files. This works by locking certain folders so that only authorized apps can access them. By default, Controlled Folder Access protects your Documents, Pictures, Music, Videos, Favorites and Desktop folders. You can add additional folders to protect, and specify your own trusted apps. Access the Windows Defender Security Center to tweak those settings.
The trouble is you can't install anything or add files without turning it off. It's a real pain, but If your worried about ransomware You can turn it on
Windows 10 Spring Creators Update
Microsoft says Creators Update will take around 30 minutes to install, unlike previous variants that took between one and two hours to complete.
They must have timed it on a I-7 with 16 gigs of ram.Because I've seen it take 5 to 6 hours on a older computer. When you see this please don't turn you computer off.

How do you turn off or disable Cortana in W10 Home Fall Creators Update
My Best Answer Is
If you really have to watch this video
In Windows 10 Fall Creatrors Update, there is no option to disable Cortana. In the previous release of Windows 10, which is known as 'version 1511' or 'Threshold 2', the user could click the gear icon in Cortana and quickly disable it:
You can remove Cortana from Windows 10, but it's tricky
After upgrading to W10 from W7, PDF files now default to Edge PDF

What’s this: Application Control security feature in Windows Defender
The Application Control feature in Windows Defender is a crucial security feature for Windows 10. With advanced malware, ransomware, and spyware, we need advanced security systems. Let us learn about this new feature introduced in Windows 10 v1709.
Windows Defender Application Control
Application Control helps determine the trustworthiness of each app instead of assuming an overall trust on the system apps, therefore greatly reducing system attacks, especially via executive files.
The Best Graphics Cards photography
My honest answer to you is that if you're not looking to do any hardcore gaming anytime soon, you will not need that graphics card. In fact, regarding photo editing and the proper video outputs you would need, you may not even need a graphics card. You could get along just fine with a motherboard that has built in HDMI output and a CPU with good integrated graphics
When it comes down to photography and editing, you really just want a graphics card that can output HD or DVI video, and a monitor that can handle one of those.
For anything other than gaming your video card should be fine.
The key really is not your video card but your processor speed.
Intel Core i3 vs. i5 vs. i7: Which One Do You Really Need?
How to stop your PC from automatically restarting after installing updates
My best answer is DON'T
Microsoft keeps changing this. It's a pain to stop because you keep getting messages that your user account control settings are wrong. If you can just live with it. If you can't
However I do not recommend any of these fixes. I hate all browser extensions. They are nothing but trouble.
Adblock Plus Should be named Web block Plus
Because it slows you down an is not a good thing.
Best way to deal with this is to do what I do leave the sound turned down till I want to hear something.
Wetransfer there are a lot of these simi legit programs out there that seem to offer you something you might like.
They turn out to be E-Mail address gathering sites. How they got your E-Mail address I don’t know.
I had something like this happen to me last week. I thought a Instagram page might work for the Elks. I went there and started to fill out
The form. Got to the place where they wanted my E-Mail address I decided the whole idea was stupid so I backed out without giving it to them.
Except now the Elks get a E-Mail from Instagram every day. Pain in the @#$%

What´s the difference between open Google Earth with DirectX or GL?
The only real difference is that opening in "openGL" GE is using the memory that is dedicated on your graphics card, not your system resources. If you have a graphics card installed in your computer that is capable of handling the memory requirements of the GE (Google Earth) program, you open with "openGL". If you computers graphic card has to use you systems memory (RAM) then you would open using DirectX. This is Microsoft way of letting you enjoy the 3D effects of many programs. When you first install and run Google Earth for the first time, it should tell you which mode to open in and then set it as your default. If you are still unsure, you can always try to open in both modes to see which gives you the better performance...
1. When installing the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, should we use Express or Custom? I’ve read that it’s better to use Custom as Express allows Windows and its apps to, among other things, let Skype calling software use your contacts list, hit you with personalized ads, share your browsing data, request your location data, and see your location history. And in typical Windows fashion, there is “Automatically connect to suggested open hot spots,” another setting you get if you go Express, despite the next sentence, which notes, “Not all networks are secure.”
2. What is the Adobe Approved Trust List (AATL) ?
The Adobe Approved Trust List is a program that allows millions of users around the world to create digital signatures that are trusted whenever the signed document is opened in Adobe® Acrobat® or Reader® software. Essentially, both Acrobat and Reader have been programmed to reach out to a web page to periodically download a list of trusted "root" digital certificates. Any digital signature created with a credential that can trace a relationship ("chain") back to the high-assurance, trustworthy certificates on this list is trusted by Acrobat and Reader.
3. What is Intel Delayed Launcher, do we need it, and does it need to be enabled at startup? Is it for Win10 only ?
It is a system recovery measure that -- to simplify a bit -- allows you into your computer's operating system before any system files can be accessed by virus/malware. In a nutshell, if your system is attacked by a virus that loads during boot, you will be very thankful you have this enabled. On the other hand, it has a major impact on boot-time, so if you never end up using it, you'll have wasted about 30 seconds of your life every time you boot... Tough call to make, but I'd say if you consider your computer not very prone to virus exposure, don't bother, and if it is, keep it enabled. It installs with all Intel Prossers. I always turn it off. Since boot virus that load at start-up are so rare. Everyone wants their computer to boot faster.
Is the WinZip 11.0 program you install different that the WinZip that can be accessed through the desktop context window? Do you add WinZip to the Context Menu?

Is there a difference in backing up Win7 and Win10?
No Just Back-Up the way I have always told you and you will be fine
The jury is out on if this can be done or not. Since the Computer Clubs Windows 10 computer should have a sticker on it with it's real product key. In class we will try the method below and the little Product key program along with Jelly Bean Ketfinder, and see if anything works
if I ever have to look at a product key again it’ll be too soon
Is Efficient Sticky Notes different from the Sticky Notes you put on our computers ?

What is Cameraroll in Windows 10 ?
It's the folder where pictures from your webcam are stored by default. Also, it's used by OneDrive in your mobile devices to upload/backup your photos and videos. This last thing doesn't have implications for the local folder but I think it's a good thing to have a folder named the same as the default in OneDrive for organizing purposes.
I would suggest you leave it alone and forget it's there in case you don't want to use it.
Do you use “Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4” for Win10 to remove shortcut arrows. If not, what do you use and can I use it when I start to use Win10? NO
Most of you may know that I hate those little arrows on desktop shortcuts. I have spent hours finding ways since windows 95 finding ways to remove them. For a short while after the release of Windows 7 I had to use Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4 to remove them. This however turned out to be a bad idea because your brother in law or some other relative would see it on your computer decide you didn't need it remove it and really mess up your icons.
Then I found this works great on Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10
In my over 30 years of working with computers.
I've never seen anything this bad.If you get it it's a full reaload to fix it and your files & Pictures can't be restored. BACKUP NOW
USB-C is set to replace the USB interfaces we've used since the mid-1990s. Here's why that's a good thing.
Windows 10 Tracking Disable Tool is another helpful option for privacy concerned users to disable the native tracking within Windows 10
I don't like this thing. Mostely because it's running in real time and your browser is having enough trouble workimg as it is. If you really want to use it go ahead, but give back your Safeway and Fred Meyer card too. It's the same thing.
I have an optional update for Realtek PCIe Family Controller (network adapter) which is a driver update. You caution us against driver updates. What about this one? Checked this in Device Manager—shows working ok. Researching this I found that others blogging report this as working but when they troubleshoot results say problem is with this. I don’t have a problem that I am aware of.
Can anyone use/purchase VPN and does it require being on a network?

What is Dell EDoc Viewer
This program has often been considered as bloatware by some users as it is bundled on various manufacturer's new PCs. (Because this might be considered bloatware does not mean the software is bad or harmful, if you use it regularly its worthwhile to have. However, bloatware typically means the program is optional and was simply pre-installed but is not required and can be removed.) Some quick tips to be aware of:
It is usually licensed for use only on the Dell PC on which it was pre-installed.
It sometimes difficult for users to remove via the 'Uninstall a Program' feature in Windows.
Since computers don't come with any programs to read PDF or Doc Files this is a program Dell and some other manufactures include so you can read warranty end user license on so on. I always remove it after I install Adobe reader Office and so forth.
If your seeing it on a computer I set up I must have forgot to remove it. It's worthless so remove it.
Dell is the best about not slamming you with bloatware , but it has some. Read More about Dell Bloatware
